Warwick Retreat

This property in Warwickshire has a fantastic large, cottage garden but this nook had been a bit forgotten, overgrown and in need of a refresh. The main garden is a riot of colourful planting but it lacks shade in the heat of the summer - this place offers a quiet space for a cool afternoon rest spot.

We decided to run with the idea of seclusion and designed a relatively narrow pathway with an open circular clearing at the end. Simple seating is placed within the circular space, hidden from the top of the pathway by planting. A perfect spot for a quiet coffee and a book on a hot afternoon. The owners love propagating plants and therefore had a wonderful stock ready to select from - shades of purple, pinks, yellows and whites - ideal for a calm, cool and peaceful retreat.
